He ended up 3,000 miles away at Cabrillo College, a Junior College in Santa Cruz, California. He started for Cabrillo, scoring over 1,000 points in 2 years, first team all conference, and top 5 in scoring in the state. He soon earned his D1 scholarship to Coppin State, and took full advantage of the opportunity. His senior year he was the leading scorer on his team, and second in the conference. But he really showed up during the big games. He averaged over 20ppg against the likes of UConn (national champs), Kentucky, Texas, Illinois, just to name a few. In High School he played for Lynn Tech and was two time MVP of his league. He was also Boston Herald and Boston Globe All Scholastic and a McDonald’s All American Nominee.
